testing your knee with the KT-2000 Sometimes surgeons use a special type of instrument, called the KT-2000 arthrometer, to help them tell if the ACL has been torn. This device is designed to both measure the amount of looseness from front-to-back in the knee and indicate how tight the knee is after surgery. This device can sometimes be very useful because it can compare the relative amount of looseness in the injured knee with the normal knee in the same patient.
